Potentiometers 

A potentiometer can control the regulation of electrical devices, such as volume on a stereo system or a car radio and picture controls on some TVs. Commonly used with light dimmers, potentiometers can be applied in any device that requires smooth variation in current, such as electric stoves and joysticks.
