An in car surveillance system also know as a dash cam, car DVR, or dashboard camera is designed to continuously record the view through a vehicle's windshield. In car surveillance systems can provide video evidence in the event of a road accident, and some models can capture evidence of vandalism when the vehicle is unoccupied. Dash cams can be attached to the inside of the windshield or on the dashboard.
