Anti-Seize

Anti-seize compounds are used to coat threads on fasteners and other threaded metal parts to prevent galling or sticking when the parts are mated together. Galling is when the threaded item corrodes and welds itself inside the part it's threaded into, preventing the removal of the threaded item and increasing maintenance time and costs. These anti-seize lubricants also provide some protection against environmental hazards such as water or high temperatures.
